  • TRANSPORTATION info for Bus & Car Riders:

How to change transportation for your student during school hours:

To ensure a smooth and safe dismissal process, transportation changes will not be accepted after 4:00 PM.

This allows staff adequate time to notify students and helps prevent miscommunication or confusion.

If you need to make a transportation change, please email the Bielstein Transportation email address.

(This email is for Bielstein Middle School students only.)

    BMSRIDECHANGE@LCISD.ORG

Just a quick note: If your student is already aware of a transportation change, there’s no need to notify us. This helps reduce extra emails and allows our office staff to stay on track while ensuring students get home safely and efficiently. Thank you for helping us keep things running smoothly!

    Please include:

    • Your student's first and last name
    • The transportation change request

Example: My student, John Smith, will be a car rider today.

There is no need to include the date, as the email timestamp will serve as documentation. All transportation requests must be submitted by 4:00 PM, as this is when we begin delivering dismissal messages to students. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Car Riders Pro Tips to Increase Efficiency:

To help ensure a safe and efficient dismissal, we do not use car rider tags at Bielstein Middle School.

All car riders will be dismissed together from the front of the building under staff supervision.

    1. Please pull all the way forward so we can load/unload the maximum number of cars at one time.
    2. Have your child ready to exit the car from the passenger side with their backpacks on prior to your car stopping to unload.
    3. We are requesting that parents do not park and walk their children into the school, unless you need to go to the front office. When parents walk through traffic with their kids, it slows our car rider line down for everyone.
    4. Students are responsible for watching their vehicle as cars move through the pickup line. Once they see their vehicle, they should wait until it reaches the designated pickup area before approaching. In some cases, staff may allow students to move forward in the line; however, students must wait for staff approval before doing so.
    5. For everyone's safety, running is not permitted during dismissal. We know students are excited to get home, but we ask that families reinforce the importance of walking safely to their vehicle. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and orderly dismissal process for all students. Don't worry—we'll make sure everyone gets to their ride!?
    6. LASTLY, all parents parking and walking up will be processed once the car rider line is empty if the student is not outside with the car rider group.

We have been working closely with the LCISD Police Department to ensure the best possible traffic pattern and safety for all of our car riders. The first couple of weeks always brings extra traffic to our area, and our dismissal process tends to move more slowly during this time due to an increased number of students who are car riders. We recommend leaving a few minutes earlier than usual to allow for any potential delays or congestion.

Additionally, carpooling with other parents or using alternative modes of transportation such as our district busing transportation can help reduce traffic and improve safety for everyone.

Please be patient; I promise it gets better!

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work together to create a safe and efficient dismissal process.

Your patience and adherence to these guidelines are greatly appreciated and will help us ensure that every student gets home safely and promptly.
